Failure or Success - How to Pick the Right Network Marketing Team

By Michael L. Smith

Picking the right team to work with can be tricky but simple when you know what to look for.

Alright lets just jump right into it.

The first thing you should look for in a network marketing team is the energy of the person bringing you in. Now I'm not talking about fake energy, RAH RAH RAH kind of stuff just a genuine happiness to talk to you.

Are they positive? Do they sound motivated to help? Are they happy? These are all things you will pick up on when you talk to them on the phone. These are very important because the ability of someone to pick you up when you're down is powerful.

The next thing you should look for is negative characteristics. Are they really aggressive and trying to SELL you? Do they sound negative and just flat out unhappy? These are really the main negative characteristics you should look out for and avoid in a team.

Next, can you learn something from them? This is probably one of the biggest attributes of a good team. Do you really believe that this person can help you achieve your goals? You must find someone who knows more than you and is willing to help you learn it. What about their training system?

Do they have regular training calls for their team you can plug into? How do they generate their leads? Ultimately the way they do it is the way you will do it. Make sure they instruct you how to generate an endless supply of leads to have at your disposal. Leads are the lifeblood of this industry, so you need to plug into a system that can generate them.

Finally, the system is also important to building your business. This business can be mostly automated if done the right way, so how are they doing it? You will probably be building your business the exact same way as your sponsor. You want to find out how they are doing it.

Are they sitting cold calling for three hours a night or are they building it the smart way?

In the end success is really just up to you, but it you find the right team to work with the learning curve can be significantly cut down.

Network Marketing - Royalties Must Be Illegal

By Brenda Bunney

I have been a MLM Distributor for two different Network Marketing Companies. Neither Network Marketing Company required retail receipts when I signed up, but both companies changed their policy after I joined. The reason sited for both Network Marketing Companies adding the monthly retail receipt requirement was they felt it necessary to be in compliance with the Federal Government regulations regarding Network Marketing. One MLM Company required 5 retail receipts and the other required 3 receipts.

Both companies said requiring the retail activity for its MLM Company gave validation as a legitimate company rather than a possible Ponzi because providing retail receipts proved the distributor was not building it once and then retiring to live on the fruits of his labor. They actually said that the receipts proved the MLM Distributors were working. Why do you think MLM's have been an attractive option for people looking for a business opportunity? One of the main reasons is because after they build their business deep and strong, they would like to retire in Figi, sitting on the beach, sipping a cool lemonade. People are looking for a retirement vehicle. Is it possible to retire when your Network Marketing Company makes you prove you've been working? If Network Marketing Companies are practicing illegal activities, what about these businesses who have been paying out royalty fees for generations? What about the music, movie, oil and publishing royalties? Would they qualify as Ponzi schemes? A musician, author and actor are paid over and over again for something they only physically worked on one time. An oil company only has to strike oil once to extract it and pay the owner of the mineral rights for every barrel pumped. Oh my gosh! How brilliant you say? I can't claim that one. The credit goes an MLM Distributor I know. When my friend questioned two MLM lawyers with that question, they quickly excused themselves with no answers.

Looking at this logically, it seems to me that the Network Marketing Companies were the ones responsible for making the MLM distributor keep in receipts. I was right as I found out later, but if they could have one more hoop for the MLM Distributor to jump through, there might be a lot of people who could not get the required customer purchases that month. The Network Marketing Company would get to keep pure profit with no effort or cost on their part! Is this what the Network Marketing Company is really trying to accomplish? It makes me wonder!

Finding Success With An MLM Opportunity

By Tim Stephens

Internet marketing has come a long way in just a few short years allowing numerous multilevel marketing opportunities to spring up and grow. This has also made finding an MLM opportunity easier, and yet more confusing than ever. Finding one that is not just after your money is the first step, then finding an MLM opportunity you can believe in is the next step.

As multilevel marketing matures it slowly roots out more unscrupulous operators who are only interested in scamming an unsuspecting public. However, they have also given a jaded view of legitimate multilevel marketing programs as people relate to them as pyramid schemes and believe they are only after their money.

Despite the numerous multilevel marketing offers promising gold and usually only delivering coal dust, many are finding an MLM opportunity to help them turn their financial world around. While their income may not be instantaneous riches, they typically find it growing month-by-month eventually reaching a point at which they can devote their energies on multilevel marketing efforts, keeping their cycle of growth moving.

An MLM opportunity exists when a company has found a successful formula for sales, advertising and marketing and finds its growth potential limited only by the number of distributors available to perform the functions. They will usually offer the chance to grow with the company by teaching its methods to others, usually setting up an internet website for them and supplying all the tools needed to grow. Typically there is a small fee for all the education, training and materials they supply which is usually more than offset by the commission structure paid for sharing that information with others.

You now have your own internet business operated by you with the site, the knowledge and materials provided by a company hoping you do well. If you succeed the company continues to grow and it is in their best interest to help you in your effort. While they want you to help sell their product or service, they also encourage you to bring in new people to train to do what you are doing. That way not only will their business prosper even more, but you can also increase your earnings as the newest member of your multilevel marketing family also succeeds.

With a solid MLM opportunity you not only receive commissions on your sales, but you also receive commissions on the sales made by the people you bring into the business. In most cases if that person brings in additional distributors you also get a part of their sales as well. With many companies the MLM commission structure may end at two or three distributors under you while others have no limit, although the commission amounts will be considerably less the further down the line you travel.

MLM Lead Generation Secrets Exposed

By Sean M Williams

I hope that anyone that reads this really takes in what I'm about to say. That is MLM lead generation is a fantastic way to grow your network marketing business. If you generate your own leads, you are setting yourself above the masses who insist on buying poor quality leads from MLM lead generation companies for outrageous cost!

By learning how to generate your own exclusive, fresh leads you are giving yourself a huge advantage. It's sort of like the old saying goes - 'give a man a fish and he'll feed himself for a day, but teach a man HOW to fish and he'll feed himself for a lifetime'. It's about becoming self sufficient in network marketing and becoming the hunted, instead of the hunter. MLM lead generation strategies are out there, if you want to use them, and I suggest you do.

The dirty, stinking truth is that when the MLM lead generation companies sell you leads, they are usually poor quality. They are distributed to numerous people. And quite often, the people that are leads are opted in through some sneaky method - meaning that when you go to call them - they are uninterested and often very angry for you nagging them! If you use your own MLM lead generation strategies you won't have this problem!

So what are some effective MLM lead generation strategies online and offline?

Well firstly, before I discuss some MLM lead generation strategies - it's important to remember this: It's not so much what you do, rather whether you do it consistently or not. You see - if you went out, printed some good looking flyers off, and posted them around your neighbourhood - it may take days or even weeks before you start getting calls... (people are lazy). So you get discouraged and give up. But you gave up too soon! You noticed that a few calls trickled in, but didn't see the big picture... if you'd kept going out, and repetitively posted flyers - the responses would keep coming. So with any MLM lead generation method I mention below, do it consistently for months on end, and I promise you, that you won't want to stop after that, because you'll be getting great response rates!

So, two of my favourite offline and online MLM lead generation strategies:

Have some basic one page flyers printed up. Nothing too flashy. Just needs to be black and white. You should put a big bold headline on it, that is benefit driven - something like "make $2000 per week from home in your underwear" or similar. Draw those people in! Then go on to state a few criteria such as hardworking, willing to learn etc. etc. Then ask them to call you for more information. It's important to note, for this MLM lead generation technique - that it is very important that you don't litter! It's one thing to post flyers up around your town, but be respectful as well, ok? So post these flyers on message boards at the grocery store, in day care centers (single mums would love it), you get the idea! Remember what Einstein said - "imagination is more important than knowledge".

And for my online MLM lead generation technique, I'm going to have to say that Google Adwords is my favourite. This one costs a little bit of money to get going, and there is a learning curve attached to it, but by goly! When you get Adwords working correctly for you - you can generate live fresh leads all day long. I would take some time to learn it though, invest in a course or two in adwords so that you don't waste money.

So there you have it - those are two of my favourite MLM lead generation techniques. Believe me, I have generated literally hundreds of live, exclusive leads by these two methods alone. Use them faithfully and have more leads than you can handle!
If you would like to learn more about MLM lead generation and how to attract people to you in MLM, and become a sponsoring magnet - I would highly recommend you check out my review on a book called 'Magnetic Sponsoring' by going here: http://magneticsponsoring.thinkthrive.com

The Ever Talked About "Network Marketing Posture" and How You Can Get It

By Jonathan Budd

You can feel it in the voices of the big boys. Yup, their “posture”. So smooth, so confident, speaking from a place of total conviction.

We have all heard that once you develop your posture in network marketing, your business takes on a life of its own. But why is that? And how do you develop this Posture?

Posture is really nothing more then the strength of your belief level.

When you have total conviction, your belief level is stronger then almost ANYONE who you will be talking too. Most people never speak with total conviction.

In fact, let’s be honest. Most people are pretty insecure about a lot of things in their life. And naturally, people are attracted to those who are very secure. We see it as a sign of strength.

So when you can look someone in the eye and tell them with total conviction that the business you are building is a way for them to create real wealth in their life time….the power of your belief level will win out over theirs. And when this happens, people listen to you.

People gravitate towards those they perceive as strong, because everyone is looking in some way to be stronger themselves. We all want more strength, and we will gravitate towards the people we perceive who can show us how to get it.

When you develop your own total conviction people will gravitate towards you like a magnet. So how is it done?

This is the not so easy part. There really isn’t any one answer suffice it to say you genuinely have the intense desire and spirit within you to find your posture. It’s never ever giving up, until you have found exactly what it is you are looking for.

It’s challenging all your fears, facing adversity, and barreling through obstacles that makes your stronger. Keep flexing your leadership muscles, and pushing yourself to do what makes you uncomfortable…..and you WILL develop your posture.

False Expectations....A Network Marketing Nightmare

By Jonathan Budd

One of the ultimate destroyers of a profitable business before it ever gets the chance to be profitable is false expectations.

A lot of times in this industry people are sold on hype. “All you have to do is get 4 people who get 4 people and your rich!” Yea…right.

When a person enters a business with false expectations of the amount of work network marketing takes, and what type of income you can realistically expect in your first year, it’s not hard to see why most people quit so soon.

Once they see their expectations not being met, they either assume they are a failure, or network marketing is a scam.

When in reality, neither are true. What happened was a lack of REAL education that could have prevented this all too common scenario from happening in the first place.

A real and accurate expectation in network marketing is to give it at least 3-5 solid years of work before you expect it to start really paying off. Personally, I tell people a reasonable expectation is between $500-$1000 per month by the end of your first year.

If you don’t understand the concept of working harder today to be paid a lot more while working less tomorrow….then network marketing is not for you.

In the beginning, you are grossly underpaid, and on the back end you are grossly over paid. If you don’t fill yourself with outrageous expectations, it makes it A LOT easier to just calmly do the amount of work it takes, day after day, to really build a long term residual income from network marketing.

MLM Network Marketing - It's The Marketing, Stupid

By Philip Bourdon

You know the routine; write down 100 names. Include everyone you know; from Uncle Bob to Dr. Cranium. Then, tell them about the amazing new “Vita-Juice” and the fantastic business opportunity that they need to join NOW! Be sure to crank out the calls and not leave anyone out.

A few weeks later, if anyone is still talking to you, you realize that MLM is a lot tougher than your sponsor led you to believe. That’s because you have focused all your energy in contacting your network (your “warm market”) and have tried to sell them on your business opportunity. You have done almost nothing to market them.

People don’t like to be sold; but they like to buy. When you try to sell your friends on the business opportunity, you encounter a natural resistance that we all have to being sold. It’s marketing that gets around that psychological barrier and taps into the desire to buy.

Marketing is preparing people to buy. It’s presenting all sorts of intriguing information to someone about a product. Then it attracts them to take a stroll down “Marketing Lane” , where they end up at a cliff called “SOLD”. If marketed effectively, they willingly jump off that cliff and later heartedly encourage their friends to do the same!

Traditional MLM has put the order of actions backwards and almost entirely ignores the more important one; marketing. You are taught to focus on your network and then sell them on the opportunity; great company, great products and what a compensation plan! You are taught to chase and pitch them; but not to market them. Instead of working on your network and trying to market (sell) them, you need to focus on marketing so that you can find a qualified network.

For the most part, the overwhelming majority of your “warm market” is no more qualified to start an MLM business than is any guy on the street. That’s why your sponsor will stress, “It’s a numbers game.” It sure is and it’s a lot of numbers!

If it isn’t obvious, the most qualified group for network marketing is network marketers. There are plenty of them out there that are open for a new opportunity. If you want to discover a simple and effective way to attract (market) them, read my article; Internet Network Marketing - You Only Get What You Give.

How to Select a Primary Network Marketing Company That Brings Residual Income

By SF Chin

Network Marketing appeals to many. It offers the opportunity to work part time with potential to make full time wages and the ability to work from home. However choose a Network Marketing Program is not an easy task. Some people make quite a bit of money with these programs, but it requires hard work to get to the top.

However choosing a Network Marketing program can be difficult. There are so many of them, and they will all offer you the potential to get rich with minimal effort. Here are some suggestions for choosing a multi level marketing program.

Start with a program that find interesting. This is a part-time job, and you want to pick something you enjoy. You may also want to consider a home based internet business.

When choosing a Network marketing program, look for something new, something that not everybody is already doing. It helps if the product caters to a growing or under-served market. When choosing a Primary Business, it is important that the products offered must be something people would buy even they stop doing the business.

Start with a company that has been in business for several years. Some multi level marketing companies do not last. Once you have determined the company is very solid, only then do you take a look at their compensation plan. Do not just join a company because of their compensation plan. Ideally, one would choose one that will pay huge residual income every week. Scout around, there are some good ones around.

Watch for unrealistic sales quotas before choosing a Network marketing program. Some programs actually seem to set you up for failure. Talk to as many people in the program as you can. Use the internet for research.

When choosing a Network marketing program, there are many factors to consider. Remember that these programs are about selling, and the various programs will try to sell you on why theirs is the best. Find a program with products that interest you and then find out as much as possible about it. If you have done your proper research on a good Primary Network Marketing business, you would be able to working from home and start enjoying your second income in the next 3-5 years.

MLM - Develop A Team Of Qualified Prospects

By Philip Bourdon

Dad owned a roofing and siding company. I used to think that he practiced the ultimate in hard-core selling; knocking on doors trying to sell his products. Then I realized that those in MLM attempt a much more difficult sell. At least my Dad knocked on the doors of qualified prospects; people who had old, worn down roofing and siding (a lot of which I tore off in my younger days).

Network marketers call on their warm market of friends, acquaintances and friends of friends. In what way is anyone’s warm market qualified or even remotely interested in starting a new business where they will have to call their friends and acquaintances too? They are no more likely than any guy on the street. We’d have far better odds at a roulette table! If we’re going to attempt marketing, we should target qualified prospects.

An MLM friend of mine reminded me that if we want to start a baseball team, we don’t ask plumbers for a try-out. Who is the most qualified group of people to market our MLM? Of course, it’s folks who are already doing MLM or have done it. Don’t worry; there are plenty in MLM open to a new opportunity. Whether it’s IBM, Toyota or Super-Duper Vitamins MLM, there’s always someone open and looking to change his situation.

Network marketers have pitched countless numbers of people, trying to overcome their objections. They have heard and said it all. Even if they are not happy with their company, most will psychologically resist our efforts (if we pitch our business opportunity), since seriously listening to us means that they must admit their own failings. I’ve heard some say that when we “lead” with our company, we give them the objection!

Why not circle right around the resistance that they are poised to bring and not say a single word about our own MLM (Was that rumbling thunder I just heard the collective groan from my upline)? We need to develop trust and credibility with other marketers long before we begin to discuss our own company.

Now we know the target. Let’s keep our current MLM to ourselves and work on developing respect, credibility and trust. This is done by giving away what they need. For details, see my article: Internet Network Marketing - You Only get What You Give.

Business Builders Or Product Users

By Joshua Fuson

In the network marketing and MLM industry, distributors are often told that they need to find 2 types of people to put into their business: Product Users (consumers), or business builders (people that are trying to make money with the business). Often, it is presented as a mutually exclusive option, meaning that a person is either a business builder OR a product user. When operating and attempting to grow a downline, networkers and MLM’ers are usually encouraged to focus their efforts on acquiring business builders if they are trying to grow a business. In theory, it only makes sense. If you want a business, and specifically if you want leaders, then find business builders. If you just want to help people enjoy the product, find product users. Right?

Wrong.

This line of logic makes sense on paper, but I’m sure we can all recall certain theories that made tons of sense on paper, but didn’t work in reality.

Network marketing, or multi-level marketing, is not an industry. It is a compensation model. Instead of being paid on the front end for consumption (like a traditional retail-compensation model), you are paid on the back end for consumption. The important thing to keep in mind is that without consumption, NOBODY GETS PAID. You can have 10,000 people in your downline, but if nobody is using the product, then nobody gets paid. Consumption of product is what allows MLM companies to cut distributor checks. Nobody gets paid on simply recruiting and sponsoring.

Why is this important?

Well, if you’re trying to build a business and generate revenue with network marketing as vehicle to that end, then it’s absolutely imperative to your business that you have a distribution channel that focuses on consumption.

So here’s the big question: How do you do that? How do you build a distribution channel from scratch that emphasizes consumption?

Like this: You lead with your product or service.

I’ll say it again: Lead with your product or service.

Instead of focusing all your efforts on going out there and trying to find other people to blow up your downline for you, focus your efforts on finding those consumers that are already demonstrating a need, want, or desire for your particular product or service. Then, you simply position yourself in their pathway of consumption. By presenting them with a product solution, and then showing them the “opportunity” as a means of subsidizing their usage of that product (get the product for free) or even as a way to make some money over and above that, you can then build a downline with a solid foundation of consumption. But that’s not the best part.

The best part is that by leading with the product or service, you will dramatically increase your retention rates.

You see, when you lead with the product or service, you will be building a solid foundation of consumers. In addition to that, you will also have business builders that are taking advantage of the business opportunity to get the product for free, or because they recognize the value of the product they are receiving, and want to get that same product in the hands of other consumers who are looking for similar solutions. By leading with opportunity, you build a downline based on greed. You have a bunch of people in you downline that are there to make a million bucks. So when 3 months pass by, and they are still not making a million bucks (this is residual income, remember?), they quit using the product. The only reason they ever used the product in the first place was to make a lot of money, so when they’re not making a ton of money, they quit.

But when you lead with the product, you are solving a consumers problem. So if they do decide to take advantage of the business opportunity, they’ll stick with it because even though they’re not making a million bucks in 3 months, they believe in the product, the values and the benefits that the product brought into their life, and therefore continue to consume the product. That’s why they got started in the first place; it was based on the need of the consumer for the values and benefits that your product or service offered. Because the opportunity was not stressed and presented as the sole reason for consumption of product, then the consumption of product will continue even though the distributor is experiencing the usual bumps and bruises that go along with the creation of any business.

For most people, greed is not motivating enough to keep a person going when business is slow and the dreams of margaritas on the beach seem unreachable. But the passion and belief in the value of a product IS enough to keep a person going when breathing life into a business. And that will make the difference between a 60% attrition rate (industry standard for most downlines) and a 2.5% attrition rate (the current standard for MY downline).

If you lead with the opportunity, you will probably go broke, and your organization will flounder. If you lead with the product or service, you will create enough income in your lifetime that you will have to hire professional shoppers to help spend it all.

MLM - Proven Systems That Create 6 Figure Incomes

By D Little

Why is it that so many people fail in Network Marketing? Is it the companies? That just can't be the case. Each year the Network Marketing Industry does billions of dollars in revenues. Is it the products? No way. Most network marketing companies offer a 30 day unconditional money back guarantee. So what is it? Why do so many people fail in the industry?

It's simple. This one concept could very well change the way that you view the industry... forever. The truth is that Network marketing is not about being a sales person. In fact, most sales people never get ahead in the industry. Why? Because they just don't understand the revenue model of the business.

The reason that most sales people fail in the industry is that as soon as they see a product, they think "Who can I sell this product to?" and "Who is going to buy my product?" Unfortunately that is not the model for network marketing.

Network marketing is a business that is designed for the masses. It is designed so that anyone, no matter what their race, sex, education, I.Q or status can become a millionaire if they adhere to very specific guidelines and systems.

1. A good MLM company ALWAYS has systems. What are systems? A way to present and explain the business opportunity by simply giving your prospect a website, a CD, a DVD, a 1-800 number, or inviting them to get on a conference call or a 3 way call. It's the systems that do the selling, NOT YOU!

2. As for answering questions? It's NEVER YOU that answers the questions, it's always a third party. This is the main reason that people fail in the industry, especially salespeople, because they always want to do all of the work and know everything and answer all of the questions.

3. Successful network marketers will tell you that this business is about teaching, training and systems. It's not about recruiting massive amounts of people. It's about finding a few teachable people that have some goals and then helping them achieve their goals using the systems and the team to support them along the way. It's called DUPLICATION.

4. The product needs to be a consumable product and have monthly ordering or an auto ship feature.

5. The product needs to have mass consumer appeal and address a need in the market.

6. The products need to offer good value for the dollar and offer a 30 day unconditional money back guarantee.

7. In order to make big money in Network Marketing you need to learn how to ask the right questions. Peak someone's interest and get out of the way. Let the systems do the work FOR YOU.

8. Once a new affiliate signs on to your team, it is your responsibility to teach them and train them these basic philosophies. Every time you show someone the systems, the products usually sell themselves. This is not about becoming a salesperson. It is about becoming a people person.

9. Understanding your WHY is one of the most important factors to success. Everyone has their own dreams and goals, but it's important to understand this before you can really set your path.

10. Spend as much time as you possibly can with the top income earners of the company. Use them as a 3rd party validator and edify their success to assist you in reaching your success. It's a simple process of introductions and edifications. Teach these principles and go to the top!

I have spent the last 10 years as a network marketing trainer and have been blessed to help 100's of people from all walks of life achieve their goals and dreams using these techniques.

Here is the secret that can put a six figure yearly or monthly cheque into your bank account. What is it? Network marketing is not about selling products. Network marketing is about understanding people's needs.

MLM Success Online: It's A Numbers Game

By Tom Childs

There are two main things you have to learn when operating an MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) online business in order to be successful. One is how to generate leads and the other is how to qualify leads. Master these two skills and everything else will follow for you.

One of the first things you must understand about the internet business is that it is primarily about the numbers – specifically, the number of people who you can get to visit your site. I liken it to filling a big funnel – a large opening on top where we try to fit in as many site visits as possible and eventually a much smaller amount of qualified interested customers or business partners will flush out of the small opening at the bottom.

If you stop to think about it, why do you think sites such as the two big search engine sites we all know about are so successful? It’s because they have millions, if not billions of people that visit their sites regularly. With that sort of audience, it simply is not difficult to sell, no matter what products or services they are offering.

You probably cannot and should not aspire to get the level of traffic that the internet behemoths get, but you can certainly do quite well for yourself nevertheless. I say should not because to think that you should be able to rival the traffic statistics of those sites would be an unrealistic expectation to put upon yourself.

If you can get even just five thousand people to visit your site each month, you can consider your site marketing efforts a success. In fact, if you can get that many people into your site on a regular basis, you will probably earn as much money from affiliate programs as you do a network marketing program.

Here are two things you can do to get started with marketing your MLM online business:

First, you must learn how to generate leads. You need to have a web site and learn the strategies to get people in there. You can provide related content, swap links with merchant partners or friends, submit your site to search engines, publish an e-zine or a newsletter and overall just simply begin to build a subscriber list, which will be your future customer base. You can also try paying other people to advertise your site or paying leads companies for some of their subscriber lists, thereby leveraging your time.

Second, you must qualify your leads. Try to spend time with only those customers or business opportunity seekers who are likely to be of help to you and your business. You will find that a lot of the leads you generate will end up being so called “tire kickers”. You want an efficient method of screening these people out so as to not waste your time on them.

If you are promoting an MLM online business, this should be less of a problem, as long as you have created a site that it related to your online MLM venture. If you have succeeded in creating a site that is interesting, it will almost follow that the people who visit it will be interested in what you have to say about your business opportunity.

Internet statistics show that only around 2-4% of people who visit a site will click on a link that will make money for the website’s owner. That already-small number shrinks further to 1% when it comes to those who will actually buy a product. This means that the more people you can entice to visit your site, the more money you will make.

Obviously, what you want to accomplish with your site is to reach as many people as you can, letting them know about the specific business opportunity that is available through you. The more people you can inform about your MLM opportunity, the higher the chances of you gaining new business partners or selling products.

What Network Marketing Stories Are You Sharing?

By Jane Avery

Those of us who are network marketers are always sharing our success stories. Almost always these stories focus on the products or services that we are marketing. This is important. After all, product sales drive the industry. Still, all too often, we fail to tell the story of the Company behind these products and services.

Here we must be honest with ourselves and everyone we talk to. Even if our products are the most unique, most original, least expensive, almost miracle-working products, we will not, and cannot, become successful building our businesses unless, and until, we are building with a Company that has integrity, puts their distributors first, and has a compensation plan that works for our specific situation.

We have all been in that situation where we were recruited into a company by a family member, a friend, a neighbor, or just someone we met online, and we didn’t bother to read, with understanding, all that fine print of the policies and procedures. We simply clicked the ‘I Agree’ button, and quickly moved on to become affiliated with yet another company. What we heard sounded so good, we failed to perform the ‘do diligence’ that takes time and effort, but is so very necessary. All too soon we found that this was not ’multiple income streams’ but rather ‘multiple outgoing rivers‘. Our closets and garages were becoming filled with products as we faithfully followed instructions for monthly qualification and watched in horror as our credit cards overran their limits.

Regardless of all the network marketing failures, there is hope and wonderful business building opportunities in this arena. There are good companies that have integrity, and quality products, who value their distributors. Companies who respect part-time people and have compensation plans that encourage everyone to grow and profit at their own pace and ability. Companies that understand the value of retailing products and thus encourage and promote this important aspect of every network marketing business.

If you are NOT sharing the good news about your company, are you building with the right company. Have you read your policies and proceeds? Do you know if you are building for success or for failure?

There are mentors with information and life experiences who are available to assist in helping network marketers become skilled in the knowledge and tools they need to become successful. Failing to succeed as a network marketer may not be your fault. It could be your lack of knowledge in choosing a company where you can become part of a success building team and find your own rewarding opportunity.

If you are a frustrated network marketer, help is available. Get the facts and begin building company stories as well as product stories to pave your way to success.

The Art of Building Your Downline – How Numbers Add Up

By Alan Johnson

First of all, I’m not going to waste your time (or mine, for that matter) by illustrating the history of MLM, or by insisting on other general aspects.

If you have no idea what MLM represents, if you are unaware as to the meaning of the terms “upline”, “downline”, “referrer” or “referral”, then you need to be doing some serious reading (I suggest bookmarking this article, and documenting yourself on MLM in general before reading further).

OK, you know what MLM is all about, and want to start earning some money.

You see headline after headline, promise after promise: “earn thousands of dollars monthly by simply referring your friends”/”achieve financial freedom by joining our program”.

Before joining any MLM, you need to stop fooling yourself into thinking you will become rich overnight and understand what exactly you are getting yourself into.

After all, you can’t win at a game without knowing the rules, can you?

Are high earnings possible with MLM programs? Yes.

But, things look a lot easier on paper than they are in practice.

A 4-figure income is possible, even 5-figures are not out of reach, but don’t think you will ever even get close to such earnings just by inviting a couple of friends to join under you and leaving things at that.

As you know, MLM stands for “MultiLevelMarketing”. What does the term “MultiLevel” suggest?

Exactly, the fact that you earn not just from people you invite directly, but also from the ones your referrals invite, and so forth (the actual number of “levels” is different from program to program).

The name of the game is having a healthy downline, in other words, having active referrals (referrals capable of promoting/ referring).

Do you think you can succeed by simply inviting a couple of people to join under you and leaving it at that?

Think twice, you have about the same changes of “getting lucky” as you do at winning the lottery.

The bottom line is that very few members of your downline, if any, will actually prove to be active promoters, and just standing by will not do you any good.

If you want a solid downline, you cannot expect things to work themselves out, because they simply won’t, and your earnings will reflect that attitude.

“Passive income”, doesn’t mean that you earn money for doing absolutely nothing, it means that, if you do your job right, at a certain point, your downline will naturally increase, without you actively participating in the process.

Note the wording: “at a certain point”

It’s reaching that “certain point” that separates winners from losers.

And what exactly is your job, as the referrer, you ask?

It most certainly isn’t inviting people to join your downline and leaving things at that.

Your job is training your downline, offering them all the tools and support they need to become active promoters. Don’t assume your referrals are born promoters, assume the contrary and train them to become such, the results will be well worth your efforts.

How to train them?

First of all, they need your full support. By e-mail, by phone, by video conference, by whatever means necessary. Don’t turn your back on them, answer all of their concerns calmly, patiently and don’t keep them waiting too long. Fast, quality support can and will get you far.

Secondly, set yourself as an example. Show them how it’s done, explain your techniques, share your results. Nothing encourages referrals to be active more than having their upline as an example.

Also, add a community “feel” to your downline, make your referrals feel right at home. Set up a special forum for them to interact with another, and, of course, with you, hold conference calls, anything you can think of that could encourage them to stay in contact with you, aswell as with their own referrals.

Another important aspect: not all of your referrals are expert web-designers, in fact, you will find that a lot of them would like to promote their referral link online, yet have problems with starting a website. As you imagine, if you provide them with the tools, you have another active member as a part of your team.

Be supportive, be unique (you have to, if you want people to choose you as their upline over another person), be understanding and calm, and your odds at success are looking better and better.

Network Marketing - Finding Leaders

By Janet Napora

The most important element of Network Marketing is to leverage your time. That's where the people in your downline come into play and the true beauty of MLM. Once you sponsor someone into your business it's your responsibility to train them. Your main goal is to teach them the skills that they need, so that they can begin to be successful on their own and help their people do the same. Of course you'll always be there if they need help, encouragement or just to keep in touch.

When you talk about having Leaders in your downline, you don't need that many, just a few good leaders can make an enormous difference in your check. What do they look like? Where do they come from? What kind of background do they have? Those questions are not always easy to answer. Leaders can look like anyone, come from anywhere, have any kind of background.

What makes leaders is their "WHY". Why do they want to join a Network Marketing company. It's not just about money, paying off bills, we all want that. Their "why" needs to be personal. The reason they get out of bed in the morning. Things don't always go smoothly, a strong "why" will get them through the rough patches. If they have a bad day or a bad week or a bad month, is their "why" strong enough to get them through?

How strong is your "why". Have you ever thought about it? Really thought about it? If you haven't, now is the time to do it. Have a seat, grab a pen and paper, and start writing down your "why". When you're finished look at what you wrote. Is it personal? Is it emotional? Is it going to be strong enough to get you through the rough times? When you have it, keep your "why" close by, look at it from time to time, let it remind you of why you started in the first place. As time goes by your "why" can change. Life moves fast, make sure you keep up.

A leader might be a doctor, lawyer or a top salesman in a fortune 500 company. A leader could also be a single mother wanting the best for her children, a college student with a dream, anyone that wants more out of life. Never dismiss someone because they don't conform to somebody elses standard of a leader. You could be missing out on sponsoring the greatest network marketer around.
